Chapter 1 summary
This chapter of the book explains many of the basic elements of digital photography. Starting with getting to know and understand the different components of your camera. Some of these important components contain the simple functionality of your camera. For instance most Digital Cameras use memory SD cards in order to store the pictures that you have taken. Most run on either rechargeable or regular batteries. The majority of the chapter discusses the different shutter speeds and how they can affect the outcome of a photo you take. The shutter speed controls how long the shutter remains open, therefore manipulating the amount of light that your camera is exposed to. It is broken down into fractions of a second, the faster the subject the faster the shutter speed. The other key tool used to control the light is the aperture setting on the camera. The aperture setting controls the depth of field in which your lens is focusing. The shutter speed and aperture setting always can effect one another.
The faster the shutter speed, the smaller the aperture setting should be.

Homework # 3 - Color Theory
I chose the color green for a number of reason. The first and primary reason would be because it is my favorite color, many of the clothes that I own are green in some way or another. Another reason why I find it to be an important color to my is that it symbolizes life in all forms. Other than the blue of the ocean and sky green could be a close second in the most prominent color on earth, I don't exactly know if that is the case but either way there could be a strong argument for that. The color green in a way also symbolizes my heritage, I am half Irish and Italian, the color green is one of the colors found on each flag and for some reason that makes me gravitate towards the color more. I am also a March born child this can be significant because for as long as I can remember Green has been associated with this month. Again along with March the symbol of spring commencing and everything sprouting back to life. The last reason would be that I am a huge Celtics fan and ever since I was a young boy I used to love watching the games with my dad. My dad and I have a pretty distant relationship and the Celtics is one thing that we have in common with one another. Usually when we get together all we can seem to talk about is the Celtics, and every time I see the green jerseys it gives me a certain type of feeling, I can't quite explain it but it is a strong emotional response.
