Henry Wessel Jr.
For this last project I have decided to stick with a shooting style that I have found my self more comfortable with. With a Suggestion from Julee I am going to be looking closely at Henry Wessel Jr. He is an artist who has always been fascinated with street photography. He has always been fascinated with lighting and working with different elements of natural light in order to get the composition he was looking for. Wessel took photos of mostly vernacular architecture; meaning he was more interested with buildings that served as domestic dwellings and were more functional than just monumental. Many of his photos can be considered portraits of houses. Social landscapes are an extremely interesting aspect of art; it allows you to enter into a space with people for that brief moment. I have researched a little bit on his shooting style and his process and it was quite interesting to find out what he said. He has explained that his inspiration to shoot is to reveal the world to people. The way he prefers to show his viewers his photos is in a manner where it seems as if he is taking a walk with you. Every once and a while he will just say "Look at that!". He is just taking you on a tour of what he sees on a casual stroll through the city.
